KFP_2466Free fire safety checks for businesses as part of national fire safety week We are offering businesses access to free fire alarm and extinguisher checks as part of a national fire safety awareness week. To mark the Chief Fire Officers Association’s (CFOA) UK Business Safety Week, which runs from September 7-13, our engineers are visiting businesses across North Wales and Cheshire to carry out free fire safety checks.
The free equipment health checks will help business owners identify flaws in their fire safety provisions, such as out of date extinguishers or faulty fire alarm systems.
The check-ups will include:
  • Review of business’ fire risk assessments
  • Checks of their fire log books
  • Checks of their fire alarm systems.
  • Engineers will also check business’ fire extinguishers, advising on issues like their accessibility and whether they are in full working order.
Steve Jackson, Managing Director of Jackson Fire & Security, said: “The no-obligation checks are completely free, and will give business owners valuable information on easy to solve problems with their fire safety systems. By law, businesses in England and Wales must have an up to date fire safety risk assessment, as well as appropriate fire safety provisions. We regularly speak to businesses that think they are covered, but in actual fact are not. With that in mind, we want to highlight fire safety risks to business owners free of charge, so that they understand and can act upon any risks in their workplace.”
CFOA’s UK Business Safety Week aims to help businesses reduce their risk in case of fire, protecting staff, buildings and resources. To arrange for one of Jackson Fire & Security’s engineers to visit your business, contact Rachel Evans on 01352 755 866 to make a booking. All bookings must be made by September 14 2015, the end of UK Business Safety Week.
