Jackson Fire & Security is taking two million steps towards attaining a Public Health Wales Silver Award. Staff at our Mold head office will be walking the equivalent of the Welsh Coastal Path, which is 870 miles or 2,175,000 steps, as part of our push for silver. We currently hold the bronze award and will be seeking to go one better in the coming weeks. The Corporate Health Standard is an initiative for employers to improve the health of the workforce and their organisation. It is delivered by Public Health Wales to companies who promote the health and well-being of their staff. Aiming for silver is part of our commitment to healthy living and well-being in the workplace. Jackson Fire & Security employees will be recording their steps using activity trackers in order to help achieve their collective goal of two million steps. Healthy snacks such as fresh fruit will also be provided to encourage everyone to eat well. We will also offer help and guidance on physical activities and exercise opportunities throughout the day. Our team members also have the opportunity to suggest changes we can make and other benefits we can implement to assist our goals. Steve Hand, finance and HR manager at Jackson Fire & Security said:
“We’re committed to providing the highest safety standards for our clients, but also want our staff to feel at their best. “Public Health Wales currently recognises us with a bronze standard, but we want to continue working towards a silver award, becoming a healthier workplace on the way. “I hope other businesses in the region follow our lead and help promote healthy lifestyles for their employees.”
