Hundreds of participants in what’s been billed as the ‘happiest 5k on the planet’ will don t-shirts sponsored by Jackson Fire & Security this year. The annual Colour Fun Run, organised by our charity of the year the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, is in its third year and involves runners being doused in organic paint whilst completing the event. In addition to our sponsorship, we’re sending a team to run the course to try and raise more money for the hospice. The hospice, based in Backford near Chester, provides free-of-charge palliative care to patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses across Cheshire West and Deeside. The Colour Fun Run, which is on Sunday 3 July, starts from Willaston’s historic Hadlow Road station and finishes at Neston Cricket Club. A bus service, with a small donation, will then take runners back to the starting line if needed. Abi Smith, corporate fundraising manager at the Hospice said:
“Jackson Fire & Security is a fantastic firm to partner with and we cannot thank them enough for the on-going support they are giving us. “We are anticipating this year’s run will be our most successful yet and look forward to seeing the team covered in paint and running for our cause.”
Steve Jackson, Jackson Fire & Security’s managing director, said:
“The Hospice provides an exceptional local service for people at a time when they need it most. “As a business we are committed to giving something back to the local community and the hospice is a really worthy cause.”
This year we have also launched the sponge cake challenge in aid of the Hospice, and are also providing the charity with free fire safety and security equipment. Jackson Fire & Security employs 31 people across branches in Liverpool, Warrington, Wirral, Mold, Cambridge and Glasgow. Formed in 1991, the company has built a reputation for quality, reliability and service, and is a NSI and Siemens’ gold-accredited partner for fire and systems.
