Jackson Fire & Security’s managing director has been shortlisted for one of Wales’ most prestigious business awards. Steve Jackson is up for medium to large business director of the year at the Institute of Directors in Wales’ (IoD) annual awards. The Mold-based business leader is on the shortlist for the award, which recognises expert senior managers from any sector in Wales. Steve isn’t the only Jackson Fire & Security employee celebrating, with Tom Fletcher, director at our Cambridge branch shortlisted for the IoD’s young director of the year in the East Anglia region. Steve, who co-founded the business in 1991, has gone from servicing fire extinguishers from his home to opening six branches across the UK, with plans for more offices later this year. This month, Steve and the team will travel to Cardiff where the winner will be announced inside the SWALEC stadium, which is home to Glamorgan cricket club. Steve said:
“It goes without saying that I’m really pleased to be shortlisted for an IoD Wales director of the year award. “I’m fortunate to have a fantastic team behind me. The growth and success of the business is very much down to their hard work and efforts. “Although this award is for an individual, it’s very much recognition of the hard work and commitment of every Jackson Fire & Security employee.”
