20160703_130232Our good-humoured runners raised a total of £1,652 in the recently-held Colour Fun Run. We recruited 11 runners to the Jackson Fire & Security team for the annual event, organised by our charity of the year – the Hospice of the Good Shepherd. We joined nearly 400 other participants in the race, which involves runners being doused in organic paint whilst completing the event. All the runners in the 5k event, from Hadlow Road station, Willaston, to Neston Cricket Club, wore a Jackson Fire & Security branded white t-shirt. The company itself had donated £1,000 at the outset to buy t-shirts.  The remaining £652 of our donation came from sponsorship of individual team members.  The total raised so far is £10,000, with some sponsorship still outstanding to be handed in. Located in Backford near Chester, the hospice provides free-of-charge palliative care to patients and their families facing life-limiting illnesses from Cheshire West and Deeside.  It supports 1,500 families each year. Steve Jackson, Jackson Fire & Security’s managing director, said:
“Everyone on our team said they had fun, as well as collecting funds for such a good cause.  We’re hoping to raise lots more for the hospice over the course of the year.”
