Jackson Fire & Security were on hand to assist with a fire alarm upgrade ahead of the opening of a brand new indoor climbing experience launched in July this year.
Boulder Hut have created an indoor hub with over 17,000 sqm of climbing including a children’s area, elite training area, café and shop at their home in Ellesmere Port.
Before opening to the public, Boulder Hut were required to complete a fire alarm upgrade to an L1 system for their world class facility at Olympic Park in Poole Hall Road. L1 fire alarm systems are the ‘ultimate’ in life protection with automatic fire detection in place throughout the building.
Jackson Fire & Security carried out the fire alarm upgrade to an eight-zone Kentec conventional fire alarm system, adding extra zones for the activity and kitchen areas. The warehouse area was installed with fire beam smoke detectors giving the premises full L1 coverage.
The fire and security specialists based in Bromborough also provided the new climbing centre with commissioned fire extinguishers before opening. A fire extinguisher technician assessed the use of the building and recommended a combination of foam, carbon dioxide and wet chemical fire extinguishers to combat the different potential hazards at the centre.
Boulder Hut Co-Founder, Sam Oxford said: “We’re really pleased with the service we’ve received from Lee and his team. Lee helped us with implementing the system within very short timescales and was very proactive in his approach. We’ll be happy to use Jacksons again.”
