fire extinguishers
Jackson Fire & Security recently installed and commissioned fire extinguishers for Leeds College of Building’s brand new campus in the South Bank area of Leeds. Fire extinguishers When the enquiry was first received, the fire and security firm visited the campus to ensure that the fire extinguishers they were recommending were fit for purpose for the education environment. The new development will create a state of the art 5,200 square metre, four storey building with a range of classrooms, workshops and an impressive central atrium, alongside the College’s existing South Bank campus, between Cudbear Street and Black Bull Street. A large proportion of Leeds College of Building’s 6,500 students will then attend the two South Bank sites, with the remainder using the College’s North Street campus. Representatives from Jackson Fire & Security spent one day on site installing 45 fire extinguishers to ensure the new building meets British Standards for fire-fighting equipment. A combination of CO2, dry powder and foam fire extinguishers were recommended across the campus. The fire extinguisher engineers also ensured that all the equipment is accompanied by the correct fire safety signage. This helps quickly identify the equipment in an emergency situation. Jackson Fire & Security Leeds branch director, Kris Milner said:
