It’s been another great week here at Jackson Fire & Security in the Midlands, in fact it’s been a great two weeks since the previous blog post.
Last week was mainly dedicated to a wireless fire alarm system installation for a Nottinghamshire care home providing a much needed upgrade to the system that was in place. The system installed was manufactured by Ziton and offered the client a fully addressable fire alarm & detection system within budget and with minimal disruption to the elderly residents.
We also carried out fire alarm and intruder alarm servicing, whilst also providing quotes for a fire alarm installation for a growing dessert shop brand who now have six stores open.
The last week has been a varied one starting off by upgrading a problematic intruder alarm system at a telecommunications company in Great Barr. The client had reported issues with setting the system and a large number of false alarms. The engineer who was given the task of upgrading the system found there were cables that had been cut, some that had not been terminated and PIRs (Passive Infra-Red Sensors) that were faulty. We replaced the whole system, re-wired some of the PIR’s and added a DualCom alarm monitoring device leaving the client happy and safe in the knowledge that their building and contents are well secured.
On Wednesday we first fixed a fire alarm system in Stafford for Redbox who are responsible for project managing the fit-out of desert shops. The system is to be linked into the county council office building via an interface as the buildings are joined.
Other work this week includes fire alarm servicing at a restaurant that is opening this weekend in Mere Green and replacing emergency lighting at two houses of multiple occupancy (HMO’s) in Birmingham.
Successful contracts won this week include a fire alarm upgrade for a local shopping centre and a fire risk assessment for an engineering company.
