Hospice of the Good Shepherd is throwing down the gauntlet to everyone this Christmas to join in Festive Fun Friday on December 9th and we are taking up the challenge. For a donation of just £2 we will be dressing up in all our Christmas clobber and digging out our warm woollies, Santa socks and reindeer antlers. We will be holding a Christmas bake sale with cupcakes and mince pies on offer to anyone who can make it over to our office in Mold. You will also have the chance to enter our raffle with some great prizes on offer. If you would like to join in with the festivities head down to our office. Our address and directions can be found here. Melanie Cowieson, the Hospice’s Corporate and Major Gift Fundraising Manager said: “This is the Hospice’s first ever Festive Fun Friday and we want everyone to get into the Christmas spirit and celebrate this special time of year. “The whole theme of our special day is to have fun no matter what your age whilst raising money for the Hospice. “Just £5 will pay for a home cooked meal in our inpatient unit or day therapy and for £20 a patient can receive a complimentary therapy session such as acupuncture that can help relieve some of the side effects of chemotherapy.” Melanie added: “Big or small donations help us to make a difference when it matters most.20160616_081848 Rachel Evans, Marketing Manager said: “We are delighted to get involved in this special day to help the hospice raise vital funds.” “As our nominated charity of the year we have been on hand to support the hospice in any way we can throughout 2016, but the team didn’t need much persuasion to wear our warm woolly jumpers to work and eat lots of cake!” So far this year, we have launched our own sponge cake challenge in aid of the hospice, and sponsored their colour fun run entering a team of 11 runners and raising a total of £1,652.00. The Hospice of the Good Shepherd provides palliative care for residents of Chester, Ellesmere Port, Deeside, western Cheshire and part of south Wirral. It has a range of services free of charge to patients facing life limiting illnesses and their families.
