Two Mold-based businesses Jackson Fire & Security and Delyn Safety have combined to provide Argoed High School near Mold with a defibrillator to be based in the school. Both businesses teamed up with Denbigh-based organisation Dream Safety who will provide staff and over twenty Year 10 students at Argoed High School with training on CPR and the use of the new defibrillator. Representatives from all three businesses visited the school to present the defibrillator and to meet the headteacher and students from Year 11. Managing director of Jackson Fire & Security, Steve Jackson said: “We saw this opportunity to help as too good to turn down. Not only are we helping out the local school but this will be of huge benefit to the whole area and something which is vital to have in place in every community.” Mr Paul Smith, headteacher, said: “We are so very grateful to Mike Joy from Delyn Safety and Steve Jackson from Jackson Fire & Security for their generous donation of a defibrillator for our school and community. “Thank you to Sharon Stubbs from Dream Safety who has agreed to provide staff and students with training in CPR and the use of the new defibrillator.” Jackson Fire & Security employs 43 people across its head office in North Wales and regional branches in the North West, Guildford, Teesside, Walsall, Cambridge, and Leeds. Delyn Safety provide health & safety training and consultancy services throughout the UK. From their training and conference centre in Mold, they run a range of different courses including fire safety, working at height and first aid. They also provide over 60 different e-learning courses on a range of health and safety topics including lone working, food safety and stress management. Dream Safety offer a work experience placement vetting service that ensures schools are able to maintain the vital provision of work experience for their students. They provide this service across Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham and work with schools in these regions to build and maintain valuable links with employers in the community.
